MASSENA – Christmas cookies, face painting, and an ugly sweater contest were just a few of the things attendees enjoyed at Liberty’s Annual Community Christmas Party held recently.
Thanks to all the "Elves" (Liberty employees) and "Jr. Elves" (the children who attended), the elderly residents of the Farrar House in Malone, and L.B.S.H. Housing Corporation in Brasher Falls, will receive a gift bag for Christmas containing lip balm, lotion, non-slip socks, and a picture frame made by the community members at the party.
“When we think of Christmas, most of the time we think of kids. And rightfully so. But there are also many elderly folks living in group facilities that don’t have family or friends around to celebrate the holiday season with,” said Mark Saltsman, Liberty, New York Gas Vice President and General Manager. “Elves at Work is one way we can ensure that everyone, both the young and old, are remembered this time of year.”
The event even boasted two special surprise guests – the notorious Grinch and Cindy Lou. Photo opportunities were plentiful, as were the McDonald’s gift cards they were handing out to the children there.
