Potsdam Humane Society’s 14th annual “Pets and Vets” golf Tournament was a great success because of the 88 golfers who played and over 48 local North Country sponsors.

The tourney, held at Canton’s Partridge Run on June 1st raised $20,600 for their veteran program. A huge thank you goes out to the sponsors and golfers.

Canton’s VFW was represented by two teams for the 14th year in a row--every year of the life of this tournament.

Thanks also goes to Kevin Maginn, golf pro at the course, for an exceptional job of making the day of golf run smoothly.

The Humane Society’s Pets and Vets program has been funded for another year.  The program gives pets free of charge to veterans, active or retired, as a thank you for their selfless service to us all.

The Potsdam Animal Shelter at 17 Madrid Avenue is funded largely by private donations.  About two-thirds of the funds to operate the facility come from caring individuals who share their hard-earned cash with the animals in need of a loving home.

Also, a large portion of operating funds are funneled over from the Best Friends Thrift Shop on Route 56. PHS thanks our community again and again for supporting us! We cannot do it without you!
