AKWESASNE – Akwesasne Travel and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort have partnered together with the St. Lawrence County Public Transit to launch a weekend pilot transit program.
The Free-Fare service will begin Sunday, July 2 in conjunction with the Akwesasne Art Market & Juried Show and will reoccur each Saturday in July.
The primary goal is to connect visitors to events such as the Akwesasne Farmers Market happening in and around Akwesasne. The route will provide service to Mohawk River and Iroquois Village Apartments, new stops in Akwesasne connecting riders to Generations Park, Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort, and Twin Leaf Plaza & Diner to Massena and Canton.
This bus route will run on the following dates: Sunday, July 2, Saturday, July 8, Saturday, July 15, Saturday, July 22, and Saturday, July 29.
This SLC Bus route 75 will be free of charge thanks to the generous sponsorship from Akwesasne Travel and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. This pilot program will also be used to help determine if this could become a regular weekend service in the future based on participation.
