Seo Jungmin concert said one of the greatest, most unusual performances

To the Editor:

I’ve been aware of, attended, participated in, and produced many concerts and musical events since 1957 in Northern New York. On Sunday, June 23rd I was privy to one of the greatest and one of the most unusual concerts ever presented in the North Country – Seo Jungmin. I won’t go into any of Seo Jungmin’s background and resume. That can be found on the Norwood Village Green Concert Series web site: nvgcs. org

The above statement is not hype. You had to be there to experience this artist and her accompanying musicians.

A kudo for a yeoman professional effort by Rob Zolner working hand in hand with the technical director for Seo Jugmin and negotiating the Korean language barrier. Another Kudo for Youmi Guilbert, a native of Korea and an Ogdensburg resident and floral shop owner who provided translation assistance for the event.

Additionally a big thank you to the NNCS administration and custodial staff for the use of the facilities. The air conditioned auditorium provided relief and safety for 2 concerts, Thursday, June 20th for Northern Symphonic Winds and June 23rd for Seo Jungmin. With the technical skills of the above  mentioned sound pros the ambience and acoustics necessary and enhancing for these two performances was achieved with remarkable success.

The whole concert was amazing but the finale was an artistic triumph to behold. The sounds reverberated beautifully throughout and about the auditorium.

Thanks also to my dedicated staff of Holly Goddard, Brenden Bombard, Joshua Jarvis, and Sara Miller for all of the movement of equipment, gathering and serving food, and returning the auditorium exactly the way we found it and ready for another day of regents exams.

We now look forward to the rest of the season. The series thrives when it is outdoors but Seo Jungmin’s performance indoors was actually better for this particular concert and we were protected from predicated tornado possibilities.
