RENSSELAER FALLS – There’s some great business news in the Village of Rensselaer Falls.

The former Bowhall’s Market on Rensselaer Street has been sold to Jeff and Dawn Dollinger, residents of Rensselaer Falls. They have reopened as “Falls Market & Deli.” The store number is (315) 990-0033.

“Plug it in now and be sure to stop in and shop local, stated Mayor Michael Hammond.

The mayor also reports a new cornhole club is forming in the village.

Tyler Grace and Michael Langstaff of The Seaway Honey Holes LLC have plans to have a winter cornhole league at 216 Rensselaer St., the former grange now owned by Shane and Sam Booth of Rensselaer Falls.

“They met December 5th and 7th and are looking for interested players to contact them through their Facebook page,” said Hammond.

Also, the village has a vision to upgrade the village office and library through a multi-year, multi-phase expansion project. The Rensselaer Falls Library is a branch of the Canton Free Library network.

“Our current village office and library space needs improvement for better accessibility. Please consider helping us by participating in the process,” the mayor commented. “Working with River-Street Planning, our team has developed a vision board for the public to interact with. We are seeking a start to public input through the use of these boards. The vision boards will be strategically placed at each of our events for community members to start weighing in on the ideas.”

The next major community event in The Falls will be a New Year’s Eve celebration from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Rensselaer Falls Fire Department. Tickets are $40 and attendees must be 21 or older. The ticket includes music by Pat Duffy from 7 to 9 p.m. and Common Revolution Band from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., charcuterie board appetizers all night, one beverage ticket a champagne toast, wine tasting by Bella-Brooke Vineyard, and free hourly giveaway for tickets holders.

Space is limited. To pre-order tickets, contact Brianna Backus through Facebook messenger or by texting her directly at (315) 854-2880.
