North Country This Week
POTSDAM — Community Bank has announced plans to close the May Road drive-up only branch effective Jan. 19, 2024.
The news came from a letter sent to current Community Bank customers this week.
Officials wrote that the plan to close May Rd. branch will allow them to consolidate services to the nearby branch located at 64-70 Market Street.
“We want you to know that we remain highly committed to our communities and see these changes as the best way to efficiently provide services to our customers,” Senior Vice President of Retail Banking Hal Wentworth wrote.
For existing customers, nothing will change in regards to accounts.
“Please use your existing checks, ATM/debit cards, credit cards and account number(s). There will be no interruption of service during this transition,” Wentworth wrote.
Wentworth noted that Community Bank currently has over 200 customer facilities, all of which can assist customers with their banking needs.
According to Wentworth, customers can also expect to receive “the same knowledgeable and friendly service from many of the same friendly employees you have been accustomed to seeing.”
