OGDENSBURG -- Some laid off Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center workers will speak out this morning following the announcement that the hospital plans to cut 5% of its workforce.
The workers plan to speak at a press conference and rally today at 10 a.m. at the hospital, 214 King St.
The laid-off healthcare workers represented by 1199SEIU, United Healthcare Workers East, from the Revenue Cycle Department at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center will speak-out about the events that led up to the outsourcing of their department.
Following a federal investigation of CHMC's billing practices the hospitals decided this week to outsource the entire department and laid blame on workers for the mismanagement of information, according to Allison Krause, Communication Coordinator of United Healthcare Workers East.
