WADDINGTON — A variety of antique motorcycles, including a 1915 Flying Merkel, and a 1956 NY State police motorcycle, were on display at Waddington’s Whitaker Park June 21-22.

The Can-Am River Chapter, with an international membership from NY, Ontario and Quebec hosted the Antique Motorcycle Club of America National event for the second year.

“We had a lot of Canadian traffic this year,” said Kevin Brassard, Can-Am chapter Vice President, of Waddington.

The judging of dozens of antique motorcycles took place in the Donald M. Martin Civic Center at Whitaker Park June 22.

Antique motorcycle owners and judges came from many U.S. states, including South Carolina and Michigan, as well as in Canada.

“We sold 75 vendor spaces this year, but not all of the vendors came due to the weather,” said Brassard.

The motorcycle ride scheduled for Saturday morning was called off because of weather.

“We are always trying to get younger people involved in the antique motorcycle community. You can contact me at 315-528-1705 if you are interested," said Kevin Brassard.
